The Kansas Geospatial Community Commons (KGCC) is an initiative of the Kansas GIS Policy Board and the Data Access & Support Center (DASC). KGCC is designed to be a place for state and local governments and the private sector to share & discover geospatial information & connect with the Kansas GIS community.

The Map Book: Jefferson County (PDF), a case study of GIS projects and solutions, is available for download. News Story (19 March 2009): One Florida county's budget constraints and legal requirements for mapping needs are addressed with single-pass ortho imagery and LiDAR collection in a new progressive strategy for providing accurate data to the county's agencies. Kansas State Libraries - Government Documents/Maps Library is building an archive of historical aerial photography. Available files will be referenced in DASC's online catalog at a future date. The Kansas Adjutant General's Department is extending an invitation to GIS professionals to join the Kansas GIS Response Team (PDF). 2008 FSA NAIP - Aerial imagery of Kansas is now available. The Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) endorsed the Geographic Information Framework Data Standard in May 2008. The Kansas Water Office has published the final Kansas Water Utility Data Standard. New documentation: Guidelines for Acquiring Aerial Imagery and Digital Color Orthoimagery Scope of Work template.
