Client Install: AutoCad extension

Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 required

The Image Server extention requires the .Net 2.0 Framework (or later) to be installed on your Windows computer, including Windows 2000 Service Pack 3, Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows ME, and Windows XP Service Pack 2. If you are running Windows Vista, the .Net Framework is already installed.

You can determine if it's already installed by going to your computer's Control Panel and opening Add/Remove Programs. If it is not listed you will need to download and install it first.

If you need to install the .Net Framework:

Download and install Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0

Download the installer. Run dotnetfx.exe from your computer.

Continue with the download instructions below once you have completed the installation.

Download and install the Image Server extension

The ArcGIS Image Server client for AutoCAD is compatible with AutoCAD versions 2000, 2000i, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008.

Download the AutoCad extension installer. Follow the Install Wizard to successfully install the ArcGIS Image Server AutoCAD Client.

Configure the AutoCAD Profiles:

Navigate to Start > Programs > ArcGIS > Image Server > AutoCAD > Configure AutoCAD Profiles, which displays the following message dialog box:

AutoCAD Configure Prompt

Click Yes to install the client for AutoCAD in the specified location.

After the files have been copied, the installation program displays a list of all AutoCAD user profiles or configurations from all supported versions of AutoCAD that are installed on the computer. Select one or more AutoCAD profiles to use with the ArcGIS Image Server client. Only the selected profiles are configured to work with the ArcGIS Image Server client.

AutoCAD Install Select

To add additional AutoCAD user profiles to work with the ArcGIS Image Server, repeat this procedure. When an AutoCAD profile has been selected to run with the Image Server client, the installer places the program IS_LOADER.LSP into the Auto-Startup suite for that profile. When this is done, the ArcGIS Image Server program automatically loads each time that user profile is called under AutoCAD.
