DASC is pleased to announce the availability of a new service for providing access to aerial and satellite imagery: ArcGIS ImageServer. This new service allows users to interactively view large collections of statewide and local imagery within different types of desktop GIS software packages (not just ESRI software) without downloading the raw data.
DASC currently archives over 5 terabytes (TB) of imagery. Storing this data locally can be cost prohibitive for most users. Organizing and managing access to these massive volumes of data also provides many technological barriers. The Kansas Image Server removes many of these hurdles and makes this valuable data more accessible.
You can access the Kansas Image Server data on your desktop using the ArcGIS Image Server extension.
Extensions are available for the following software packages:
See the "Instructions" at the right for links to download and install the appropriate extension for your desktop GIS software.
